Billboard has uploaded a new video with the members of Metallica reflecting on the inspiration and influence Motörhead had on them as well as remembering the late great Lemmy Kilmister.
Metallica are featured in an extensive cover feature with Billboard in support of their upcoming studio album, Hardwired...To Self-Destruct. In addition to discussing the new album, the band touch on aging in the music industry.
So who are Metallica’s role models for working past retirement age? “Everybody mentions The Rolling Stones,” says frontman James Hetfield. “They could probably play until they’re 120. Lemmy [of Motörhead] gave it all he had to the last breath. Bruce Springsteen, another guy I admire for his endurance. But Angus Young [of AC/DC] - that guy blows my mind. That guy sweats so much every night. I can’t believe his head is still on his body.”
