MIKE TRAMP Confirms US Tour; Comments On Spotify
November 11, 2014, 10 years ago
Former White Lion frontman Mike Tramp asks for "Patience everyone! The USA tour will be a large tour 40 shows plus. I just announced the first dates, so all could see that it is happening. And as you possibly can see if you you check out a map, right now there is a lot mileage between the dates announced, so cities and towns, villages and trailerparks will feature a Tramp show along the Endless Highway. But thank you so much for your excitement and joy about this tour. I promise you that I will make each show special, and not just routine and work, but something I do because I love playing and delivering the message in my music. I am the one from the '80s who has moved on, remember that."

In other news, Tramp recently admitted, "I get asked quite a lot about how I feel about Spotify and streaming of my music. I want people to be able to find my music but I also want to get paid. I was sceptical at first but my recent publishing statement confirmed the fact that streaming now accounts for 75% of my digital publishing income and that the total has actually gone up for the first time in years. Piracy has never paid me a penny. How about that? Of course I need to play shows and sell CDs at the shows to make a living, but if I reach 10% more people by being on Spotify and get paid for every stream then I can call that a success. Even a veteran like myself can not afford being an old guy shouting at a train. Things change and some for the better. It’s always been like that."
Mike Tramp's new solo album, Museum, debuted on the Danish album charts at #3. Museum follows the musical steps of his last album Cobblestone Street, which showed Tramp from a more singer-songwriter and roots-based angle than his earlier work.
