Rocker Mitch Malloy guests on Episode #258 of One On One With Mitch Lafon, streaming below.
“In the show's only interview, vocalist Mitch Malloy discusses his new album Making Noise, working with former Guns N' Roses manager Doug Goldstein, his Malloy Master Tracks studio, his time with Van Halen and more.”
Mitch Malloy has returned to the music scene with a bang – launching a new album, video, world tour and signing a management deal with legendary rock manager Doug Goldstein. Goldstein managed Guns N’ Roses for 17 years as well as Blind Melon, Anthrax and Xhibit.
Malloy’s tenure as an artist has spanned several decades beginning as a regular on the New York music scene which soon garnered a major recording deal with RCA/BMG Worldwide where Mitch achieved chart success and landed a coveted spot on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In the mid-90s Mitch was asked to replace Sammy Hagar as lead singer for Van Halen but after spending time and recording with the band he declined. “When the band appeared on the MTV Music Awards with Dave [David Lee Roth], the fans expected his return…I expected his return. I felt as cool as the opportunity was, it just wasn’t the right time,” said Malloy.
Over the years Mitch has continued to create music: writing songs, releasing albums, touring and writing and producing projects for clients in his studio, Malloy Master Tracks. Mitch states, “I love working with young artists and passing the torch to a new generation of rockers.” Malloy Master Tracks is a full-service production facility that serves a variety of clients from hit acts, labels and brands like Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Kenny Loggins, Craig Morgan and Sony Music NY to singer/songwriters Victoria Shaw, Gary Burr and Billy Falcon.
But 2016 has been a banner year for change. With the release of this latest full-length album, Making Noise, Mitch decided to embark on an aggressive international tour schedule with the Making Noise Tour which kicked off in August at the famed Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles and will include tour stops in London, Edinburgh, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Athens, Stuttgart, Madrid, Lisbon and more wrapping up the first leg in December 2016. “Of all the amazing things that have happened in my career, having Doug [Goldstein] call me wanting to manage me is the most meaningful. People have acknowledged my talent but having someone get your talent and believe in you is exceptional!” says Malloy.
Goldstein chimes in, “I'm pleased to be working with Mitch Malloy! He's an amazing singer and songwriter. The new album is the best I've heard in years! Mitch is poised to be the next SUPERSTAR IN MUSIC! It is a true honor to be entrusted with this project!”
