MÖTLEY CRÜE Frontman VINCE NEIL - "We've Been Together 35 Years, That's Long Enough"

Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil will perform a solo show tonight (April 18th) at the 41st Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. He recently spoke with Richard Guzman at Press-Telegram about the event and Mötley Crüe's farewell tour.

After selling more than 80 million albums in a career spanning nearly 35 years, Mötley Crüe announced a two-year final tour in January 2014.

It will end with a New Year’s Eve show at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“We’ve been together 35 years, that’s long enough. We don’t want to be a band that in 10 years from now you go see them and there’s maybe one guy left of the band,” he said. “That’s not Mötley Crüe. Mötley Crüe is the four of us and we want to go out on top.”

Neil performed the National Anthem at the Las Vegas Outlaws first game on Monday, March 30th, vs. the San Jose SaberCats live at the Thomas & Mack Center. Neil performed the Star Spangled Banner just before Kick-Off.

“I’m going to perform the National Anthem in honor of the Outlaws first game, for the fans and families in attendance, and for our veterans and service men and women everywhere,” said Neil before the performance. “The players and coaches are ready to get this season rockin’ and to make Las Vegas proud of its awesome Arena Football team.”

Neil has been the lead singer of Mötley Crüe since 1980 and has enjoyed more than three decades in the music and entertainment business. Over the years, he engaged in other successful business ventures, including taking an ownership stake in the Jacksonville Sharks Arena Football team, and as of late last year, the Las Vegas Outlaws AFL expansion team.

In September 2014, it was announced that Neil would bring Arena Football back to Las Vegas. Since then, the Outlaws have been building its coaches and players roster, securing national television deals and pursuing local business sponsors including Dollar Loan Center. The team is actively seeking additional sponsors as a result of sports giant ESPN and CBS Sports signing on for television and online broadcasts.
