Over the past year, Black Star Riders and The Almighty vocalist Ricky Warwick partnered with Pledge Music to create two albums of new material, Hearts On Trees, and When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues). He's described it as "one of the most exciting experiences of my life."
Warwick goes on to say, "during the course of the campaign to make those two records, we did a lot of cool updates for the faithful. I got out my trusty guitar and played several covers for you and presented them as updates to the Pledge campaign. The response and feedback I got from you was amazing! Seems like you all enjoyed that very much. Early on in the campaign, I started getting requests from some of you to consider making an album of these covers. Well, that is exactly what we are going to do! By popular demand, I have decided to record a special album of cover songs. Here is the best part… you get to help pick the tracks! That's right… I have picked 15 potential tracks for this Stairwell Troubadour album. You can vote for the ones you like the best" at this location.
One of the songs in contention to appear on Stairwell Troubador is a cover of Eddie Cochrane's "Summertime Blues", featuring a special guest appearance by Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Enjoy a 90-second preview via the YouTube clip below.
