MY RUIN Vocalist TAIRRIE B. MURPHY Looks Back On Touring With KITTIE's MORGAN LANDER - "We Stood Together And Transformed This Classic Punk Rock Song Into Our Own Personal Anthem..."

My Ruin vocalist Tairrie B. Murphy has posted the following message online:

"Last weekend I reconnected with an old friend. They say that time heals all wounds and I often find this to be true, but it always takes two. I haven't spoken to Morgan Lander in many years but when she reached out to me recently I was very touched by her words and wisdom. Our conversation was a long time coming and reminded me how much I used to adore her and still do. Morgan is the real deal. She's a bad ass frontwoman/guitarist who blazed her own trail in a male dominated business from an early age and still can hold her own with the best of them.

Back in 2002, My Ruin spent six weeks touring the U.S. with Kittie and although it was a crazy time in our band, it was also one of the most memorable adventures we experienced on the road with each other and all the fans. One my favorite memories of that tour was having Morgan join me on stage each night to close our set with a duet and our cover of ‪'‎My War'‬ by Black Flag.

As women in metal, we stood together and transformed this classic punk rock song into our own personal anthem of strength and sisterhood, and it felt empowering. While looking through my vault this week I found this rad shot and had to share. I have no idea who took this photo but after looking at the video below, I believe we were at Irving Plaza in New York City."
