NIGHT DEMON - More Details Revealed For Cleveland Metal Holiday Food Drive Performance
August 8, 2017, 7 years ago
Ventura, California metallers Night Demon will record a live album on December 2nd at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio. The band will be performing a special 90-minute set for a forthcoming double vinyl + CD release entitled Live Darkness, due out in early 2018 on SPV/Steamhammer in Europe and Century Media in North America. Both the vinyl and CD will come packaged together as one release. Tony Alberts from Spectrum Sound will handle the live recording. Mixing will take place immediately following at Mercinary Studios in Cleveland with Jason Vanek engineering.
Night Demon's appearance will be part of the ninth annual Cleveland Metal Holiday Food Drive. Admission is free but fans attending the concert are encouraged (but not required) to bring non-perishable food items and/or cash donations for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Friends Of The Cleveland Kennel non-profit organizations. Thousands of pounds of food and dollars have been collected over the years at this event to help those less fortunate in Northeast Ohio during the holiday season. Last year's drive, attended by a capacity crowd of 700 metal fans, generated over 6,800 lbs. of food and $5,000 in cash donations. The generosity of the heavy metal community when it comes to supporting good causes is second to none. Record donation totals have been set every year.
This year's event will also celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Bill Peters' WJCU Metal On Metal radio show, heard every Friday night in Cleveland on 88.7 FM or streamed worldwide at wjcu.org. Peters is the longest running host of a heavy metal show in radio history! Metal On Metal first aired back in 1982 and has broadcast live continuously on the same radio station ever since. Peters is also the founder and organizer of the holiday food drive.
"As lifelong fans of live albums in general, it has always been a personal dream of ours to be able to produce one for Night Demon that captures the true essence of our live show as the fans themselves know and love", says Night Demon frontman and bassist Jarvis Leatherby. "What better way to do that then at the Metal On Metal 35th anniversary and holiday food drive in Cleveland! Live Darkness is on its way to the heart of it all. We have a special extended set prepared for the Cleveland metal diehards, and maybe even a surprise thrown in there along the way. See you all in December!"
