NIKKI SIXX – “MÖTLEY (CRÜE) Was The Best Thing To Ever Happen To Me; Because Of It People Became Aware Of Who I Was”

Mixdown Magazine caught up with Nikki Sixx and talked about Sixx:A.M. and his various other projects, which credited Mötley Crüe’s success for giving him these opportunities.

“Mötley was the best thing to ever happen to me – because of it, people became aware of who I was and were interested in the books I write, the radio show I host and the photography that I do,” says Sixx. “A lot of it's been self-taught, too – I'd never hosted a radio show before, and I still consider myself an amateur in photography. It's always been important to me to be an artist that's never chasing money – you do these things because you love it. That's all.”

Sixx:A.M.'s Nikki Sixx, James Michael and DJ Ashba are featured in the clip below speaking with WDHA-FM 105.5 FM's Terrie Carr They discuss their new album, Vol. 2, Prayers For The Blessed, and the band's future plans.

Sixx:A.M. recentloy released Vol. 2 Prayers For The Blessed, out now via Eleven Seven Music. Written and recorded at the same time as Vol. 1, Prayers For The Damned, released earlier this year, the album acts as a companion piece to the first chapter while simultaneously elevating the band's sound in every area.

The band’s latest single “We Will Not Go Quietly” is currently storming the rock charts in the US and Canada, and is featured as the opening theme song for season 2 of A&E’s gritty drama series Gangland Undercover, premiered Thursday, December 8th at 10PM ET/PT.
