Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx was the featured guest on a recent episode of KLOS's Jonesy's Jukebox. During the interview, which can be seen below, Sixx spoke about The Dirt - a film adaptation of the band's autobiography, co-authored with Neil Strauss, which will premiere March 22nd exclusively on Netflix.

The movie was originally supposed to be released by Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. According to Sixx, "They [Paramount] were into the concept, but our story is a little rougher around the edges. They were hoping that we might just kind of take some of the barnacles off it and we just didn't feel it would be fair to the book or to the story. Then we ended up at Netflix, and Netflix said 'make the movie that is the book.' They're just courageous, they don't care. They said 'go do it.' I can't tell you what the opening scene is but when you see it you'll go, 'How did this movie get made?'"

Sixx elaborates further, "It's honest. There's a lot of tragedy that's happened to Mötley Crüe, self-inflicted and also from outside sources. We left it all in there because we believe that our movie is like a family movie, because we're family. We spend more time together than with anybody else... it's pretty brutal on the eyes."

The 18-song soundtrack mastered by Grammy winner, Dave Donnelly features a collection of Mötley Crüe classics that meaningfully underscore significant moments that shape the film. The album includes 14 fan-favorites and chart topping tracks such as “Dr. Feelgood” that charted at #6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and the anthemic “Girls, Girls, Girls” which reached #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 amongst others. Additional hits featured are “Kickstart My Heart,” “Same ‘Ol Situation (S.O.S.),” “Shout At The Devil” and the iconic ballad, “Home Sweet Home” that landed the band mainstream recognition.
