Original BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD – “I Was Never In A Position Where I Was Never Able To Drum”
October 13, 2015, 9 years ago
Original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward spoke to Ghost Cult magazine about the claims from his former bandmates that Ward was not in proper condition to take part in the reunion for a record and tour.
Ward stated: “I was never in a position where I was never able to drum. It's really sad that those statements made about me that inferred that I wasn't able to drum.
"When I'm in the studio, I can play in the studio. I was laying down tracks. We settled in 2011. By August 2011, I was already training and getting trained. You have to ramp up to go out on tour so that takes a different attitude. I started getting into shape for a tour. Touring is completely different to me than being in the studio. So I was already doing that work.
"Never at any time was my drumming impaired, my health impaired or my ability to play drums. I'm so angry about those suggestions and that was going on."
An extensive process from start to finish, Absence Of Corners took nearly a year to complete. Original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward utilized a sophisticated formula to create the collection’s visuals, using an array of drumsticks and rhythmic accessories that produce light, much like a painter utilizing brushes and oils. Then, working with Los Angeles art team SceneFour, the movements featured within the captured rhythms are then studied and developed into abstract artwork that showcases a dimension not normally seen by the human eye. Each piece in this limited-edition collection is then numbered. All are signed by Ward. Click here to view and/or purchase.
