Legendary Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne will be honoured with the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV EMA which will broadcast live to MTV channels around the world from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday, 9 November at 9:00pm.
An MTV statement reads:
He’s a multiplatinum-selling superstar. He’s a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. He’s a reality TV pioneer. He’s a living legend. And now, he’s a Global Icon!
Ozzy Osbourne’s career has spanned four decades - from his early days as the frontman of influential hard rock band Black Sabbath, to his solo career with signature hits like ‘Crazy Train’, to his years appearing on MTV’s hit show ‘The Osbournes’, to this week’s release of the greatest-hits collection and musical retrospective ‘Memoirs of a Madman’.
As a Global Icon honouree, Ozzy joins the ranks of previous superstar recipients Bon Jovi (2010), Queen (2011), Whitney Houston (2012), and Eminem (2013). We’re mad about this Madman and can’t wait for him to collect this much deserved prize!
