POWERWOLF - New Album "Takes A Look At Possession Of Heavy Metal That Unites The Band And The Fans"

Powerwolf guitarist Matthew Greywolf is featured in a new interview with Metal Wani. In the clip below he discusses the band's new album Blessed & Possessed, songwriting, historical concepts on the album, musical direction, their upcoming tour, the power metal scene and much more.

Blessed & Possessed will be released worldwide on July 17th via Napalm Records. The wolves have released a brand new lyric video for the song “Out In The Fields” which is a cover of the Gary Moore classic.

Roel Van Helden commented on the song and lyric video:  “Like most of us, I began listening to metal when I was 11 years old. Later I discovered Thin Lizzy, who just like Iron Maiden – had a big influence on me. I still love to spin Gary Moore’s records while having a good glass of wine. Also his blues phases were genius!"

Powerwolf mixed Blessed & Possessed at Studio Fredman with Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at the helm of the desk. Jens Bogren laid final touches to the songs, mastering the album at Fascination Street.

"We have just had the pleasure to listen to the mastered album for the very first time”, Matthew Greywolf recently reported. "We're more than proud and satisfied with the result, and yet can hardly believe to have finished this intense production. Both Fredrik Nordström and Jens Bogren did killer jobs giving these songs exactly the sound they need."

The density of hits and anthems on their sixth epic record is almost ungodly - firing hit after hit and crowned by the sensational track “Army Of The Night”, which definitely enthrals the listener from the beginning and leads up to a top direction by presenting a metal hymn which is both emotive and pure magic!

The band states: “‘Army Of The Night‘ is one of the many songs of Blessed & Possessed we can't wait to perform live. Already the very first time we played that song during the songwriting, the energy and dynamics literally blew us away and we felt like this is going to be a must-play. While many of the songs on Blessed & Possessed are very detailed and elaborated, this one is probably one of straightest and most compact Powerwolf songs to date."
