POWERWOLF Release “Armata Strigoi” Lyric Video
June 2, 2015, 9 years ago
Following the release of the chart topping album Preachers Of The Night, Powerwolf are back with their the new masterpiece, Blessed & Possessed. Today the band release a lyric video for “Armata Strigoi”.
Says the band: “"Armata Strigoi” is one of the songs on Blessed & Possessed that have this forceful ahead approach while maintaining that very unique Powerwolf atmosphere to me. Lyrically the song is about the creature referred to as "Strigoi" in Eastern European mythology, a creature that might be considered the prototype of what became the vampire, though originally rather connected to spiritual roots. We love to research how mythology evolves and develops, stuff like that is our fuel for lyrics."
The density of hits and anthems on their sixth epic record is almost ungodly - firing hit after hit and crowned by the sensational track “Army Of The Night”, which definitely enthrals the listener from the beginning and leads up to a top direction by presenting a metal hymn which is both emotive and pure magic!
The band states: “‘Army Of The Night‘ is one of the many songs of Blessed & Possessed we can't wait to perform live. Already the very first time we played that song during the songwriting, the energy and dynamics literally blew us away and we felt like this is going to be a must-play. While many of the songs on Blessed & Possessed are very detailed and elaborated, this one is probably one of straightest and most compact Powerwolf songs to date."
Powerwolf recently finished the mix of Blessed & Possessed at Studio Fredman with Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at the helm of the desk. Jens Bogren laid final touches to the songs, mastering the album at Fascination Street.
"We have just had the pleasure to listen to the mastered album for the very first time”, Matthew Greywolf recently reported. "We're more than proud and satisfied with the result, and yet can hardly believe to have finished this intense production. Both Fredrik Nordström and Jens Bogren did killer jobs giving these songs exactly the sound they need."Blessed & Possessed is scheduled for a July 17th release via Napalm Records. Once again guitarist Matthew Greywolf was responsible for the album’s artwork, which can be seen below.
