Report: AXL ROSE Wants To Stay On As AC/DC Frontman After Current Tour

Rocker Axl Rose wants to continue as the frontman of AC/DC after the end of their current tour, reports TorontoSun.com.

Axl, 54, was drafted in earlier this year as a replacement for the band’s usual lead singer Brian Johnson, who was forced to bow out of their Rock Or Bust World Tour due to hearing problems.

His hiring in place of Brian has proved controversial with AC/DC fans, and he has been forced to perform from a specially designed throne after breaking his foot while playing with his reunited band Guns N’ Roses last month.

Despite Axl’s injury troubles and future commitments with his old band, AC/DC guitarist Angus Young says the singer is keen to continue as the group’s frontman after their current tour ends in June.

“I know he’s very excited,” Angus tells Germany’s NDR radio station. “He keeps saying can he do more? But we don’t really know at the end how we will (proceed). But we wanna get (through) this tour, which we were committed to doing. We wanna (sic) finish it.”
