The 2nd Annual Bowl 4 Ronnie Bowling Party, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, was held on November 4th at the Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City, California. Hosted by VH-1's Eddie Trunk and attended by 300 rockers, bowling enthusiasts and fund supporters, the event brought in $36,500 for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, now in its seventh year of raising awareness and much-needed funding for cancer research.
BlairingOut.com host/producer Eric Blair spoke with Ronnie James Dio’s widow, Wendy Dio, on the red carpet for the event, and she revealed that material from the archives is set to surface in 2017.
Says Wendy: “Well, you know we just did A Decade Of Dio that Rhino put out with the six albums that they own. I have four albums that I own after that, and we have some precious things in the archives, which we’re gonna put out and add on there, and I think Rhino (will) put it out next year.”
Asked if there is any more video, and how old, Wendy replies, “Oh yeah. I’m talking all the way back. I’ve actually got stuff from Rainbow, we’re not allowed to put out, but we’ve got stuff… we video’d almost every show.”
