Rumor: GUNS N’ ROSES To Reunite For Coachella, Possible Stadium Tour

According to Billboard, Guns N’ Roses, with founding members Axl Rose and Slash, will headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA, set for April 15th-17th and April 22nd-24th 2016. The reunited band is also negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016, and is scheduled to be one of the first acts to play the new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6th. Sources say Guns N’ Roses is said to be asking as much as $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250-$275 range.

This past weekend, reports began circulating that fans who went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens in cinemas were unexpectedly treated to a brief trailer featuring the Guns N' Roses classic “Welcome To The Jungle” being played over black-and-white crowd footage prior to the biggest movie of the year. The aforementioned trailer can be seen below.

Back in 2007, Harper Collins published Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash’s autobiography, simply titled Slash. In that book, the top-hatted six-stringer revealed: “For the entire Illusion tour, all two-plus years of it, we had two camera guys with us documenting every single moment. Those guys were close friends, so we really let them in and they got it all. They captured the kind of history that anyone aside from the members of the band would never see. They were out with us on this leg of the tour, of course, as was Del James, who became a de facto narrator at times, conducting interviews and telling the camera guys what was what. One night Del and the cameras caught Izzy (Stradlin) and me jamming on our acoustic guitars, just hitting loose stuff the way we did when no one was around. We fell into the pocket so naturally, and it felt comfortable and so great, that I’d love to see a tape of that. We have two years of footage, in fact, all of which is in a vault that will remain shut forever unless Axl and the rest of us get our differences ironed out. The footage is the Holy Grail of Guns N’ Roses; seeing the film that would result from condensing the best moments into two hours would be the be-all and end-all of knowing exactly who we were and who we are.”

Will this movie finally hit the silver screen? Only time will tell. Guns N’ Roses’ final classic lineup - Axl, Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke, last performed together in Argentina in July 1993.

About the ongoing fanaticism with the phenomenon of Guns N’ Roses, Slash told BraveWords: "One thing that's a huge honor about Guns is that we have this ongoing appreciation. Nobody could ask for a better situation other than still being together I suppose. It's a constant generational turnover. Just to have generations of people that weren't around when we started, still freaking out over a record. It's nice to be included in that group of albums that will always stand the test of time."

In other news, m/videoslots recently announced that the Guns N’ Roses slot is coming. NetEnt has released the official Guns N’ Roses video slot teaser (streaming below). Prepare your ears — the rock band themed slot is released on January 21st.
