SAIGON KICK Guitarist JASON BIELER - "Music Has Genres Like Rock, Classical, Country, Punk, Metal And PRINCE"

Legendary musician Prince was found unresponsive on the morning of Thursday, April 21st at his home at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, a Minneapolis suburb, and later declared dead. The Grammy/Oscar/Golden Globe winning artist was 57.

Prince's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, issued the following statement: “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57.”

Saigon Kick members Jason Bieler (guitars) and matt Kramer (vocals) are only two of a multitude of musicians that have expressed sadness at Prince's passing. Both have paid tribute to him via Facebook.

Jason Bieler: "Music has genres like rock, classical, country, punk, metal and Prince. I remember Nuno (Bettencourt), Gary (Cherone), Matt and myself flew to see him in Sunrise, FL when we were on tour together. We all had that same expression... like what I imagine you would look like after playing one on one with Michael Jordan. Technically we are doing the same thing... but we're just not playing the same game."

Matt Kramer: "As awful of a consumer and catalog guy as I am, there is one place that no matter how tough things were financially I would make sure I had the means to drop my hard earned cash and that would Prince's catalog and live performances which I was blessed to see some of his best and most private.

The genius, the heart, the roots of his black as well as white brothers and sisters brought an old thing to the new to display and wipe the barriers of culture, art, sex, love, music, poetry, film, acting, businessman and perhaps the greatest performer ever to live defining what the supreme star would be is there ever was one.

Actually there wasn't much Prince didn't do. His eye for design must have been intolerable to work with knowing his perfection but when it was done I'm sure everyone who did work with him put it first on the resume no matter what the outcome was.

It's a very sad day for me so suddenly losing this man. I hope future generations of young black kids will look at his legacy and attention to work ethic and detail, and continue to take the barricades off of the trap that so many fall into. In my opinion Prince was better than any white guy whoever played the sport.

May your music play forever my brother that was quite a run. Thank you."
