SANCTUARY Frontman WARREL DANE Working On New Solo Album - "Some Of It Is Just Brtutally Heavy"

Vocalist Warrell Dane (Sanctuary, Nevermore) spoke with Josh Rundquist (That Drummer Guy) on October 10 at The Triple Rock in Minneapolis, Minnesota, discussing the 15th Anniversary performances of Nevermore's classic Dead Heart In A Dead World album, working on the next Sanctuary record, and his plans to make a new solo album. Check out the interview below:

Rock Overdose recently interviewed Dane, discussing the writing process for the latest Sanctuary album, and Nevermore; an excerpt follows.

You've said, “Nevermore is not dead.” Do you have lyrics that you hold only for a Nevermore record? Are we to expect something coming from the Nevermore camp?

"Well... I will never close the door on Nevermore. But it's not entirely up to me. And yes I have several volumes of lyrics that were meant for Nevermore and I am saving them for whatever happens in the future but I'm not going to hold my breath."

Can you tell us about the process and general inspiration for writing your lyrics?

"I find inspiration in many things. The state of the world, humanity in general, our collective disdain for compassion as human beings all trapped on this spinning blue marble. The media distorts the truth and we as humans pervert the truth for our own agendas. I hope that bringing light to this can somehow benefit our fragile state of existence."
