SHADOWSIDE - Part 3 Of "Alive" Video Shoot Behind-The-Scenes Blog Available: "Apparently, The Sharks Weren't Big And They Had Probably Eaten Someone Already..."

"We arrived at Adam's house, one of the members of the filming crew, and went to get ready for the scenes. Dani filmed some of hers, like Raphael and Magnus, and then there were a few more scenes from Raphael, his main ones, that were filmed at an outhouse, something that looked more like a horror movie scenery. It was very cool seeing how scenes like that are made... and you know what... it's hard... really, really, really hard.

After Raphael was finished, I went to film the lake scene. We got on the boat and went straight to the middle of the lake for me to dive. There was someone with a loaded gun in case an alligator would approach me. Yes, alligators. Luckily, they left me alone.

We went back to the house and there was an awesome dinner prepared by Adam and Sara, our make up artist, waiting for us... a nice steak... shrimps... salads... and then back to the hotel, since tomorrow is going to be tough."

"We left pretty early to Hangar's Beach, a beach near Cape Canaveral in front of an American air force base. When we arrived, we saw two sharks swimming where we were supposed to film. Yes. Sharks. We chose to film the scenes that didn't require getting into the sea until they decided to eat someone somewhere else.

There's nothing like being at a beach with over 30º Celsius wearing jeans and long sleeved black t-shirt! We filmed my scenes at the water's edge and then it was Dani's turn to film hers, and then we finished the others'. Adam went to check with a surfing board if it was safe to enter the sea. Apparently, the sharks weren't big and they had probably eaten someone already, so they left us alone while we filmed in the sea and so we finished my parts.

Magnus and Dani went straight to Adam's house to film their scenes, while Raphael and I stayed at the hotel. In the evening, we went to Adam's house in time to watch Magnus' scenes in the forest and the final ones with Dani. The funny thing was her filming scenes with emotional content in the living room and the rest of us partying with Jack Daniel's, martinis, IPA's and pistaches right behind the couch where she was filming...at the same time... while Adam prepared yet another fine dinner for us.

And so we finished the video shoot, with the expertise of our director Daniel Stilling and his crew Sara Ray (makeup), Adam Neal Gonzalez (producer), Benjamin Lowell (camera operator), Gabriel Davis (camera assistant) and Andy Seely (gaffer). It was 3 very intense days, different from everything we have ever done, with a lot overcome and the certainty of us all having accomplished a great work."

Shadowside's new album was recorded at Fredman Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, with producers Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Evergrey, Bring me the Horizon, Hammerfall) and Henrik Udd (Architects, Delain, Dream Evil, Bring Me The Horizon) and will feature the debut of new bass player Magnus Rosén (ex-Hammerfall).

The new Shadowside album features the collaboration of Andy La Rocque, guitarist known worldwide for his work with King Diamond. La Rocque wrote a few songs together with new bassist Magnus Rosén which will be on the new album.
