November 11, 2016, 8 years ago
Norwegian gothic metallers Sirenia release their new album, Dim Days Of Dolor, today (November 11th) via Napalm Records. A music video for the album’s title track can be seen below:
Mastermind Morten Veland has just one thing in mind for Sirenia in 2016: Pure and utter melancholy. Almost two years after the release of The Seventh Life Path this Norwegian is ready to unleash his latest dark vision of gothic and symphonic metal that shuns the light: Dim Days Of Dolor is the title of the upcoming album. The artwork was created by Gyula Havancsák, who also worked on the previously albums for the band.
Morten Veland commented on Dim Days of Dolor: "It is always a great feeling to have completed a new album. With eight Sirenia albums under the belt some people ask me if it is difficult to keep up the enthusiasm at this point. But that's not problematic at all, I have never been so enthusiastic about any album before. With this album we have reached new heights that seemed out of reach in the past. I feel that the countless hours we have put into this album really have paid off in the end. This album is also the most diverse album we've done to date, also the performances has never been better. I can't wait to share this album with all the Sirenia fans and metal heads out there. This album will mark a special point in the band's career, I am sure."

Sirenia recently announced the addition of vocalist Emmanuelle Zoldan. A message from the band follows:
“We are very proud and pleased to finally announce Emmanuelle Zoldan as Sirenia's new lead singer. Our cooperation goes back 13 years, to the recordings of our second album, An Elixir For Existence. She has been a part of the choir on all our albums since then. She also did some lead vocals for the band on our EP Sirenian Shores, on our cover version of Leonard Cohen's song “First We Take Manhattan”. And from now on she will also take the role as full time lead singer for Sirenia.”
