SIXX:A.M. Confirm BLEEKER RIDGE's DUSTIN STEINKE As Permanent Drummer
January 21, 2016, 8 years ago
SIXX:A.M bassist Nikki Sixx has confirmed via Twitter the band has taken on Bleeker Ridge drummer Dustin Steinke as a permanent member. Steinke completed a U.S. headline tour with SIXX: A.M. in 2015 and is due to appear on the band's forthcoming double album.
Steinke posted the following message on New Year's Eve in celebration of Mötley Crüe's last show ever, confirming he indeed part of SIXX:A.M.:
"I want to wish my brother and friend Nikki Sixx all the best going into his final show tonight with Mötley Crüe where it all began in Los Angeles. I have looked up to MC for years on and off the stage. They have set the bar so high for how a rock band should be with their stage show and song writing. Rock & Roll will not be the same without you guys! But I am so grateful to have the privilege to continue on with Nikki and SIXX:A.M. as he continues his path of beautiful destruction around the world!"
Sixx recently posted the following update:
"James (Michael) started mixing a new Sixx:A.M. song today called 'Prayers For The Damned'.We haven't decided which songs go on which of the albums yet but that's the fun part and also the hard part. A few of my favorites are 'Riot In My Head' and 'Rise Of The Melancholy Empire'. I know Dj (Ashba) posted earlier on his Twitter that he is excited to get back from South America to finish up any last bits of guitar including some acoustics on one called 'Helicopters'. A lot of music coming your way… More news coming soon..."
Sixx:A.M., featuring Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, former Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, are hard at work on their next release, a double album to be released in two separate parts later this year; street dates have not yet been confirmed.
