SIXX:A.M. Premier "Stars" Video
November 24, 2014, 10 years ago
Sixx:A.M. will embark on its first headlining tour in April. To showcase their live chops, the band - Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, singer James Michael and guitarist DJ Ashba - did a live video for their latest single, "Stars", the first track on the group's third album, Modern Vintage (out now). It was their first live performance together in five years.
"What's exciting for me about the "Stars" video is the fact that it is live," Sixx told FOX411. "I think it shows the quality of the band's musicianship and a little snapshot into what we're about live considering we will be touring in April of 2015.”Michael says the song has always been one of his favorites. "When we wrote "Stars" we knew it was going to be a great song to perform live, so when it came time to make the video it was obvious that a live performance video would really capture it's spirit!" he said. "We're very excited about releasing our video for "Stars"."
Announcing the tour, members of Sixx:A.M. said special guest Apocalyptica would join them on the road.
“Fans have been asking for years, ‘When is Sixx:A.M. gonna tour?’, and we’ve finally announced our first headline tour,” Nikki Sixx said. “We can’t wait to play these songs live and put on a rock extravaganza for our fans. We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing along Apocalyptica as special guest because we are fans of their music and think this is going to be an amazing night of music from beginning to end.”“For three records now we have been envisioning what a Sixx:A.M. headlining tour would look and feel like,” singer James Michael said. “We are so excited to finally be bringing these songs to life.”
Adam Arnkoff, senior VP of Touring at 10th Street Entertainment, the company that manages Sixx:A.M., hinted that more excursions will follow. “The band is eager to give back to all the fans who have supported them and their first headline tour ever is the best way possible,” Arnkoff told Pollstar. “This time around, we are only able to hit select major markets, but this will serve as a taste of what is to come down the road.”
