SPELL Unveil For None And All Details
May 5, 2016, 8 years ago
Vancouver heavy metal power trio Spell will release their sophomore album, For None And All, on May 27th via Bad Omen Records. The record serves as the follow-up to the band's 2014 debut, Full Moon Sessions. The LP's striking cover image was created by artist Adam Burke for Nightjar Illustration (Ruby The Hatchet, Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats), foretelling the record's mystical vibe.
In a musical climate obsessed with genres and scenes, Spell builds on the rich musical traditions of the '70s and '80s without adhering to the conventions of any single style. Taking influence from bands like Judas Priest and early Scorpions, while delivering an original foreboding heaviness, the band catapults listeners through the doctrine-flouting mysticism of heavy metal in all its classic glory. Tastefully embellished with John Carpenter-sounding synths and eerie choral vocals, For None And All attempts something much braver than a timid retreading; the album is sure to plaster a grin across the face of even the most misanthropic metalhead.
