SPELLCASTER Signs With Prosthetic Records; New Album In The Works
April 30, 2015, 9 years ago
Hailing from the rain-soaked streets of Portland, classic heavy metal quintet Spellcaster have carved out a name for themselves with passionate diligence - both on and off the road - since 2009.
Currently consisting of members Tyler Loney (vocals), Cory Boyd (guitars), Bryce VanHoosen (guitars), Gabe Franco (bass), and Colin Vranizan (drums), the group have signed with the Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records. The group expects to begin recording their third album in the fall.
Commented the band, "Spellcaster are extremely excited to begin working with Prosthetic. Not only does Prosthetic boast an impressive roster of musicians and bands, they also boast an incredibly hard-working and down-to-earth team of professionals. The amount of musical passion these guys and gals exude is practically palpable, and we couldn't be happier to add our musical stamp to their catalog of classic releases."
Spellcaster released their debut, Under The Spell, via Heavy Artillery Records in 2011 followed by an intense round of DIY-style touring across the US. Their self-titled sophomore effort, co-produced and engineered by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust, was 100% self-funded and self-released in 2014. To date, the group has performed alongside the likes of Night Demon, Exmortus, Gypsyhawk, Skull Fist, Sanctuary, Satan, Hirax, Cryptic Slaughter, Anvil, Cauldron, Holy Grail, Slough Feg, Warbringer, Lord Dying and many more.
Catch Spellcaster live with Metal Blade artist Visigoth tomorrow night, May 1st, at Portland's Rotture. Tickets are available for just $8 at this location (21+).
