STATIC X Frontman WAYNE STATIC's Cause Of Death Confirmed
March 13, 2015, 9 years ago
Static X frontman Wayne Static (Wayne Richard Wells) passed away at the age of 48 in his sleep on November 1st, 2014. A coroner's report, obtained via Billboard, indicates that Static's death "was a result of mixing Xanax and other prescription drugs (oxycodone, hydromorphone, alprazolam) with alcohol." His death has been deemed "natural" according to the report.
The song "Assassins Of Youth” was performed as part of the Wayne Static memorial concert on January 20th at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA, and was one of two songs Dave Navarro and Matt Zane performed while joining Wayne's band that consisted of other various guests and actual members of the Wayne Static solo years.
The show was streamed live by Big Time Broadcasting but due to overwhelming amounts of people logging on the server crashed making the two songs Navarro and Zane performed difficult to view.
"I was upset that the songs Dave and I performed together weren't 100% on the live feed and since then all I've seen is bad cell phone videos all over YouTube. I wanted to make one available with better sound and a better camera to give the song and performance the proper respect."
