Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) recently guested on Denmark's My Rock Podcast. He discusses his "workaholic" reputation, touring and downtime, working on a new album, and offered his thoughts on the success of Greta Van Fleet.

Wilson on Greta Van Fleet:

"I think they're absolutely abysmal. I think they're terrible; I think it's a joke. They're an example of a band - because they're pretty young boys, they look like a boy band, they play this really piss-poor third-rate impersonation of Led Zeppelin. But they're pretty, and they've had all the help of the media and the commercial machine behind them, and they've been able to reach a massive audience overnight by playing third-rate music.

"I don't believe for one minute that anyone will remember who they are in 10 years. Maybe they'll prove me wrong and develop into a good band and make a good record, but the point is, at the moment, they're not. They're like a boy band version of Led Zeppelin. I understand why that happens, I'm not naive, I understand that a lot of the industry is based around being young, pretty, having the right image. I've never had any of that stuff."

 

Home Invasion: In Concert At The Royal Albert Hall is the definitive document of Steven Wilson’s globe spanning, 145 date tour in support of 2017’s To The Bone album. To The Bone charted at #3 in the UK and went top 10 all over Europe before rapidly becoming the biggest selling record in Wilson’s singular thirty-year recording career.

The live recording took place on the second night of Wilson’s three-night run at one of London’s most iconic venues in March 2018. At those shows, brain-twisting 3D visuals met expansive 4D sound, making that most traditional of English venues feel like it was hosting a very different kind of prom - more communion than concert.

Initially released in November 2018 on Blu-ray/DVD and CD, Home Invasion now comes as a deluxe vinyl version that takes the live recording from the night and expands it across five heavyweight 12”s and adds six tracks to the original audio (three were previously released as extras on the Blu-ray disc, three are previously unreleased anywhere). The box set also features a 32-page full-color, glossy tour book.
