STRYPER – “We Will Not Be Breaking Up”

In a new statement on their Facebook page, Stryper said they will not be breaking up following speculation they would call it quits after announcing they would be going on a hiatus after their To Hell With The Devil 30th Anniversary Tour.

The statement reads: “Just to clarify and no matter what you've heard – Rob (Sweet), Oz (Fox) and myself (Michael Sweet) will NOT be dissolving Stryper.”

“After the THWTD Tour is wrapped up we will be taking a break but we will NOT be breaking up.

“Stryper will continue. It's not fair to the rest of us or to our fans to let anything or anyone get in the way of OUR vision, OUR calling, OUR purpose.”

“There is more in store, much more and we're very excited about the future! God is bigger than all of this and we WILL rise above like we always do because God sustains us and has many more plans for this band/ministry.”

“We love you and thank you for praying for this band.”

Multi-platinum rock band Stryper kicked off their 30th Anniversary To Hell With The Devil Tour in late September, with record crowds in attendance for the first eight shows. With 28 cities to go before the band takes an indefinite hiatus from the road, tickets and VIP Meet & Greet packages are selling out fast.

“We’re only eight shows in and it’s incredible,” said frontman Michael Sweet. “The fan response has been overwhelming. It’s amazing that thirty years later, we’re still here. And it’s even more amazing that the fans are still here. We’re totally humbled by it.”

Stryper has resurrected their trademark yellow and black costumes for this tour, which includes two live sets, multi-media and their largest sound and lighting production in nearly two decades. Paying tribute to the hit album that made MTV history, Stryper takes the stage to perform the iconic To Hell With The Devil album in it’s entirety, followed by a second set of hits and fan favorites from other albums.

Fan-filmed video from Stryper's September 30th show at the House Of Blues in Orlando, FL is available below.

Released by Enigma Records on October 24, 1986, the Grammy-nominated To Hell With The Devil is the band’s third studio album and the first Christian metal album to achieve platinum status. Throughout 1987, the music videos for "Free" and "Honestly" ranked #1 on MTV’s list of most requested videos, and the video for "Calling on You" reached #2. Stryper was the first band to ever have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously.
