On February 28th, Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick returned to guest on That Metal Show. The clip below features Skolnick offering a rig rundown on the That Metal Gear, where he discusses his earliest guitars and influences.
Skolnick didn’t develop his playing style overnight. It took many days, months, and years of practice to find his unique voice and the confidence needed to push musical boundaries.
In this video, shot at Spin Studios in Long Island City, NY, Alex shows the flexibility of his playing style and how Yamaha’s THR10 has tones to match. From acoustic strumming to heavy metal shredding, the THR10 can compliment any playing style. Testament recently announced what will undoubtedly be the most crushing heavy metal tour to hit North America this spring - The Dark Roots Of Thrash II tour. The Dark Roots Of Thrash II tour will conquer North America for five weeks, beginning April 1st in San Francisco, and will include select Testament and Exodus festival performances.
