TESTAMENT's CHUCK BILLY On SLAYER, CARCASS Tour - "We Only Have Eight Songs"
February 9, 2016, 8 years ago
Chuck Billy was recently interviewed by William Richards of Metal Wani. During their chat, the Testament frontman gave fans an idea of what to expect on the band's forthcoming North American tour opening for Slayer, alongside fellow special guests Carcass. "We only have eight songs on this tour, so we've got to hit them hard and fast. I probably won't be talking much, I'll probably just say 'hello' and 'goodbye' at the end; just slam through the set because there's no time."
Billy also spoke about the status of Testament's upcoming album, recording and release date plan. He also sheds light on: using blast-beats on the new album, writing high tempo thrash songs, new single "The Brotherhood Of The Snake" and why they don't want to play it live. Chuck discusses which previous record comes close to the upcoming album in terms of aggression and melody, how he takes care of his voice even after three decades, testicular cancer and whether he still struggles to overcome it. Chuck also shares his thoughts on the current state of heavy metal with so many bands and why metal always gets the bad rep; the death of Lemmy Kilmister and why it affected him personally.
