THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER - Former Bassist ROB "LOBO ELF SNORT" TOLLEFSON Passes: "His Bass Sound Was Monstrous... So Was His Snoring"

Mark "Kinky Pork Cream" Kopernicky of The Exalted Piledriver remembers his friend and former Piledriver bandmate, bassist Rob "Lobo Elf Snort " Tollefson - who just passed away after battling cancer - with the following eulogy, submitted exclusively to BraveWords:

"As you know former Exalted Piledriver bassist Rob 'Lobo Elf Snort' Tollefson has passed away from cancer. I first met Rob when I got asked to audition for the band by  former manager Ray 'Black Metal' Wallace. After I joined I spent the next six years playing shows and having lots of laughs and adventures. Rob was an excellent bass player... a big party guy... and loved a good laugh. We usually shared hotel rooms on tour... which meant that ear plugs were required... while his bass sound was monstrous... so was his snoring. Haha... he would have laughed at that. Even after we both moved on to other things, we kept in touch and remained friends. So when I found out he had passed away... it was a huge shock. He kept his illness secret from a lot of us... I'm sure he had a reason... but one thing is forsure I never expected this to happen.

Rest in peace my friend... I'll miss you."

Gord Kirchin, founder of Canadian metal legends The Exalted Piledriver, also checked in:

"Another sudden loss to the world of music: former Exalted PIledriver bassist Rob 'Lobo Elf Snort' Tollefson has passed away after a battle with cancer. We found out the sad news shortly before going on stage last night, and we dedicated the performance, and specifically the song 'Metal Inquisition' to him. Rob and I go waaay back to the '80s when we first played in the Sean Abbott band together, and if you knew Rob, you know these were heavily laughter laden years. He lived hard, he lived fully. He will truly be missed by a great many. Rest In Peace, Groundshaker, we'll all be joining you before too long. The allstar jam will be epic... and hilarious."

Thursday, September 15th, 2016 at Distortion sees The Exalted Piledriver in their first ever Western Canadian performance as part of Calgary Metalfest V, with support from Crystal Mess, Savage Streets, Profits Of Crime and Accostal.
