THE SYN To Release Trustworks Studio Album In 2016
November 17, 2015, 8 years ago
After the spring release of The Syn’s CD/DVD release, Live Rosfest, the group have been afforded quite a bit of media coverage and positive reviews. That trend shows no sign of slowing down, even as the buzz starts to rise for their upcoming studio album.
Formed in 1965, The Syn was a precursor of the band YES, with that band’s bassist Chris Squire as one of the founding members. At various times The Syn has also included YES alums Peter Banks and Alan White in their lineup.
The aforementioned The Syn Live Rosfest was released on Umbrello Records (distribution by NOVA / Universal). The Syn Live Rosfest is a live CD recorded in 2009 at Rosfest in Philadelphia on the Syn’s Big Sky tour. It also includes a bonus DVD featuring two films The Syn in the 21st Century and The Making of Big Sky. To coincide with the release of The Syn Live Rosfest, three older Syn albums (Syndestructible, Original Syn and Big Sky) have been re-released.
The new Syn album, Trustworks, has been completed with release date being planned for the early part of 2016. The album was created in collaboration with renowned Swedish progressive rockers Moon Safari. The mastering engineer at the illustrious Precision Mastering in Cropredy, Jeremy Paul Carroll (one of the very few people to have heard it finished) described it as “a beautiful album, the best prog album of the last decade.”
Stay tuned for updates.
