THROWN INTO EXILE Vocalist Henry Derek Bonner On The Mend Following Hit-And-Run Car Accident; Campaign Launched To Assist In Paying Medical Bills
January 14, 2015, 9 years ago
Former Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick checked in yesterday (January 13th) to say that vocalist Henry Derek Bonner (Thrown Into Exile), who is working with Broderick and Shawn Drover in an as-yet-unnamed band, was involved in a hit-and-run car accident over the weekend.
According to Thrown Into Exile guitarist Mario Rubio, "the accident took place on the 101 freeway where a suspected drunk driver hit Henry causing his car to roll over three times and the driver leaving the scene. I just got off the phone with him and thankfully he is ok and in one piece."
The band was forced to cancel their January 12th show at The Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA.
Rubio has since checked in with the following update:
"I would like to start by thanking each and every single one of you for the positive vibes and thoughts for our brother Henry. I spoke with him earlier today and he's in good spirits and getting much needed rest for what he just went through. You cannot imagine the fear that struck into me when I saw the image last night but thankfully he is here with us. We would like to thank Jeff, Ashly, and the beautiful souls at The Viper Room for setting up a campaign to help Henry with his medical bills we are forever grateful for your help, if you are interested in helping the link is below. I will continue keeping you all informed, thank you all."Go to this location to contribute to the campaign supporting Bonner.
Former Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover recently checked in with the following update on his new band with Megadeth bandmate, guitarist Chris Broderick and ex-Scar The Martyr vocalist Henry Derek Bonner (pictured above):
At this point I can reveal to you that Chris Broderick and myself have the “music" for our debut record written - Henry Bonner is our singer, who has sang on six songs in demo form at this point, to which its all sounding 100% HEAVY METAL. Some of the song’s are very aggressive and fast, other’s are more “accessible” to the average heavy metal listener.
I don’t like to label everything into the 100 sub-genres of metal. To me, Accept is pure heavy metal, yet so is King Diamond and Gojira - do they sound the same?? NO, but they are all METAL!! Chris, Henry and myself are all fans of all kinds of heavy music, which is great, as we are not putting any musical parameters on what we are creating here, which is very liberating, I must say.
There is still a TON of great thing’s going on that we cannot reveal at this point... Just know that we are all working hard to bring you the best heavy metal music we can. For the time being, I hope all of you have a great Holiday season."
Stay tuned for updates.
