Los Angeles, CA-based Latin rockers, Tribe Of Gypsies, featuring guitarist/songwriter Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Halford), have been announced as the supporting act for South American metal all-stars, De La Tierra, led by guitarist Andreas Kisser of Sepultura fame and drummer Alex González (of Mana), on Sunday, August 31st at the Fonda Theatre, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., in Hollywood, California.

Commented Roy Z: "Needless to say, we're totally stoked to have been added to the bill and we want to thank Andreas and the De La Tierra family for the honor of having us at their L.A. live debut.  Andreas and I became bros when I worked on Sepultura's Kairos album and I'm very much looking forward to sharing the stage with him on Sunday. Tribe hasn't done a proper show in L.A. in almost eight years so we're ready to get down and have some fun. We will be missing our regular singer Phil (Diamond) who is still back in Greece and won't be able to make this one as everything came together on short notice but we've got our brother German (Briseño) on board so we've got it covered. We'll be playing a bunch of the old classics and throw in our brand new song "Yeah!" as well; we shot a video for that one which we'll be online shortly so stay tuned for that."

 

Tribe Of Gypsies are currently working on a new studio album, the long-awaited follow-up to 2006's Dweller On The Threshold. It is set to feature Roy Z, co-founding member/bassist, Eddie Casillas, and long-time percussionist Elvis Balladares alongside Greek native Phil Diamond (lead vocals), Matt Amper (keyboards), Adam Ponce (drums), and latest addition, percussionist Ino Alvarez (Buena Vista Social Club). The new lineup had its live unveiling on July 26th at Germany's Rock of Ages festival.
