TRUTH CORRODED Announce New Drummer
September 4, 2017, 7 years ago
Truth Corroded welcome Jake Sproule as the band's new drummer. Jake also performs with death metal slam act Whoretopsy and tech death act Necrospyre (featuring Jason Peppiatt of Psycroptic). Jake has already been playing as a live session drummer with Truth Corroded for the past several months across Australia and Asia.
Commenting on joining the band Jake offers: "Pretty stoked to be officially joining Truth Corroded, I have been having a great time touring with them since late last year. They're a great group of mates, they make great music and are fun to work with, so I am very much looking forward to working with these guys in the future and I look forward to writing music with them in the years to come."
Truth Corroded bass guitarist Greg Shaw adds: "Jake is an outstanding drummer and anyone who has seen him perform with us live will appreciate that he is also an outstanding fit for the band. Having seen him play in his own band Whoretopsy for a number of years, and as a student of the mighty Dave Haley of Psycroptic, he is not only a great addition to the band but also one of the best this country has produced - raising the bar on the quality of Australia's extreme music talent."
Jake replaces long time live drummer Kieran Murray, who has been with the band since 2011. Truth Corroded vocalist Jason North offers: "We have had an incredible time with Kieran and have had some of the band's best experiences across the world with him as a member of the band. He is not only a powerful drummer but a really great friend, and a great laugh. We wish Kieran the very best for his endeavours with his other bands Seminal Embalmment and Meth Leppard, the separation is amicable, and we look forward to partying with him off stage. Truth Corroded have featured Kevin Talley (Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Chimaira) as a studio drummer on the band's past two albums, and Kevin performs once again on the band's upcoming new release.
Truth Corroded have been busy recording the band’s new album which will be released in early 2018 (more details to come). 2017 has seen the band tour extensively across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, performing at high profile festivals in Australia such as Blacken Open Air, Under The Southern Cross Festival, Hell On The Bay and the Dead Of Winter Festival, a headlining tour in Taiwan and Vietnam and to close out the year tour supports alongside Kreator and Vader, followed by The New Dead Metalfest supporting Napalm Death, Brujeria and Lock Up.
