Update: STONE TEMPLE PILOTS “Haven't Made A Decision Yet” On New Vocalist
November 17, 2016, 7 years ago
Despite a report from Entertainment Tonight that indicated X Factor alum Jeffrey Adam Gutt has been tapped by Stone Temple Pilots to replace Chester Bennington, who left in 2015 after replacing original frontman Scott Weiland, a rep for the band says no final decision has been made.
“The band has been rehearsing with several singers over the past few weeks,” a rep for Stone Temple Pilots tells Entertainment Weekly in a statement. “They haven’t made a decision yet.”
The previous report from ET claimed that Jeffrey Adam Gutt has been working with band members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz for the past few months, writing and recording new material in Redondo Beach, California.
“A source tells ET that Gutt and the band members have officially begun rehearsals in Hollywood this week, and are expected to tour next year. They are expected to perform classic STP hits, along with new songs.”
Stay tuned for updates from Stone Temple Pilots.
