Two Newport women have been arrested following the recent knife attack incident in which Skindred singer Benji Webbe had his face and neck slashed, requiring 24 stitches, reports South Wales Argus.
A 40-year old woman from Newport has been arrested for assault (wounding with intent) and a 29-year old woman from Newport has been arrested for affray and criminal damage. Both are currently on police bail.
Webbe was attacked while on his way home to Pill after a party on Friday night. He said the assault happened outside the Crosskeys pub in the city centre. The 48-year-old was left needing stitches on his face and throat.

Webbe posted the photo below, along with the caption: "Went to Iffy's party and ended getting slashed in the face an’ throat on the way home."
A previous message from Benji reads: “Thank you all so much for all your concern and well wishes, makes all the difference and means the world to us, as you can imagine, this is been quite an ordeal! Julie fortunately was not physically hurt but the whole thing has taken a toll on us both, for me to be slashed across the face and the throat. For Julie to be dragged around and spat at by a group of women who glassed me, just know that we will rise above this and remain positive and in love. Newport is my home town and I still love it and the community we have. Big up!”
Skindred released their sixth studio album, Volume, back on October 30th, 2015. Volume was recorded at The Strongroom Studio in East London and was produced by longtime collaborator James 'Lerock' Loughrey (White Zombie, Depeche Mode, Manic Street Preachers).
