VAN HALEN-Themed Rare Car On Display In Daytona

The Motorsports Hall Of Fame Of America has gone rock and roll, and Hollywood, thanks to two new exhibits on loan from Kevin Jeannette’s car collection, reports The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
The self-described “car guy” from West Palm Beach sent up a Porsche race car dressed in Van Halen colors, along with a guitar from Eddie Van Halen’s EVH collection that replicates the musician’s famous FrankenStrat, an instrument Van Halen built himself.
“The original FrankenStrat included pieces from a number of guitars,” said George Levy, MHFA president.
The other item on display is on the other end of the entertainment spectrum. It’s a hand-built version of Doc Hudson, the cartoon character in the “Cars” movies voiced by film legend Paul Newman. It looks like the animated version, including a smiling front bumper and eyes in the windshield.
Both of these creations were put together by Jeannette’s shop and both turned a wheel at Daytona International Speedway. The MHFA Museum is located in the Speedway’s Ticket and Tours Building.
“These cars are in high demand,” Jeannette said. “Everybody wants to look at them. When the museum called and asked for them, I said ‘They are not here.’
“They’re not here because they are on their way to your museum.”
There is a lot of interest in the Van Halen car since the guitar great passed away October 6 at the age of 65.
