New Damage Records has announced the addition of Vancouver’s We Hunt Buffalo to their expanding roster in Canada. Known for their hard hitting, fuzz rock grooves and psychedelic overtones, We Hunt Buffalo will release their sophomore album later this year.
"We couldn't be happier to be signing with New Damage,” mentions lead singer/guitarist Ryan Forsythe. “For the style of music we're playing, it is the perfect home. We're stoked to be on the same roster as Biblical, Cancer Bats, USA out of Vietnam and Black Mastiff, some of our favourite Canadian bands. We look forward to getting this new record out and sharing our brand of fuzz rock with this country's eclectic music scene.”
We Hunt Buffalo is comprised of Forsythe, bassist Brendan Simpson and drummer Brandon Carter. One of Vancouver’s “bands to watch” and must-see live acts, the dynamic fuzz rockers have been causing quite a stir since the release of their 2010 self-titled debut EP. To date, the band has released a 2011 full length LP, a split 7” with fellow BC band If We Are Machines and a second EP in 2013.
In 2012, the band placed third among 400 entries in the 99.3 The Fox’s annual SEEDS competition and landed a coveted slot opening for Monster Truck in Vancouver. Since then, the band has spent the past few years touring relentlessly in Canada, sharing stages with the likes of Chevelle, Matt Mays, Red Fang, Danko Jones, Steel Panther, Pack A.D. and Living Colour, to name a few. We Hunt Buffalo recently announced that they will support label mates Cancer Bats on their forthcoming Canadian tour.
