VENOM Talk About 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise – “You Wouldn’t Think It Would Work, But It’s Fantastic”

Uwe Lerch from The Blog Of Rock has uploaded an interview with UK metal legends Venom, discussing the dynamics of performing on a cruise and the atmosphere surrounding it.

Venom released their new studio album, From The Very Depths, on January 27th via Spinefarm Records. The new track, "Grinding Teeth", can be heard streaming below.

The From The Very Depths album cover is visually arresting, featuring skeletal beings bathed in red and orange tones. The image is dominated by the instantly recognizable Venom logo, and is a natural successor to the artwork for previous album, 2011's Fallen Angels, also released via Spinefarm.

And to think this is merely the cover! The album's accompanying music slays, and early praise indicates that this could be one Venom's best releases… ever. Even the album title is 100 percent "Venomous", referencing the band's infamous live intro tape.

From The very Depths tracklisting:

"Eruptus"
"From the Very Depths"
"The Death of Rock N Roll"
"Smoke"
"Temptation"
"Long Haired Punks"
"Stigmata Satanas"
"Crucified"
"Evil Law"
"Grinding Teeth"
"Ouverture"
"Mephistopheles"
"Wings of Valkyrie"
"Rise"

"Grinding Teeth":

Venom is led by vocalist/bassist and original Venom titan, Cronos, who decided against making fans the world over wait too long for this powerful new 14-track release. Venom issued their fourteenth studio album, via CD and download, on January 27th, with a double vinyl format to follow shortly after.

Cronos says, "This album is perfect, all three members are totally over-the-top confident with the new songs and the production. We had a great atmosphere in the studio while we were recording. Dante created pure thunder from his drums, while Rage tears the flesh off your face with his riffs, making everything fall into place so well. It's a strong release and really shows the band maturing into an unstoppable force of pure black metal. We can't wait to play the new songs live for the Legions... Hell Yeah!"
