With the San Jose Sharks facing a 2-1 deficit heading into Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins, tonight's (June 6th) game was big enough on its own. But the Sharks thought they could make it even bigger, reports Chris Peters of CBS Sports.
So the team invited Bay Area rockers James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica to set the proper tone for Game 4. Clad in their Sharks jerseys, the duo brought their gear to provide their own rocking twist to "The Star-Spangled Banner." Enjoy the video below, and see more at this location.
This unique performance also supported a good cause. Both Hetfield and Hammett donated their guitars from the performance to be auctioned off to benefit the Sharks Foundation. Place your bid now by clicking here; auctions end June 15th.
