VINNIE PAUL Comments On Shooting Of CHRISTINA GRIMMIE - "Almost The Same Scenario That Happened To My Brother; It Just Floored Me"

Pantera recently commented on the death of 2014 The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie, the 22-year-old singer who was gunned down while signing autographs late Friday, June 10th after a show at The Plaza Live theater in Orlando, FL. The man who killed her was Kevin James Loibl, 27, of St. Petersburg, Florida, according to Orlando police.

“We are so sad and disappointed to hear that Christina Grimmie was gunned down the same way that Dimebag Darrell was,” the band’s statement reads. “After Dime's murder, we all prayed that our industry (i.e. club owners & promoters) would do whatever they needed to do to protect artists from gun wielding fanatics. Sadly, that's not the case and another rising star had to pay the consequences with her life. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE! RIP Christina & RIP Dime, Jeff Thompson, Erin Halk, and Nathan Bray.”

In a recent interview with KBAT 99.9 in Odessa, TX, Pantera / Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul commented on Grimmie's death:
