VINNY APPICE Talks Influence Of Big Brother CARMINE APPICE - "My Parents Would Always Go To The VANILLA FUDGE Concerts And Take Me With Them..."; Audio Interview Streaming

In the audio interview streaming below, American rock drummer, and the younger brother of drummer Carmine Appice, Vinny Appice stops by and talks with Team Totally Driven about a number of topics, including pronunciation of the family name, Drum Wars, working with Vivian Campbell, playing drums for John Lennon's last live show and more.

Speaking about his older brother's influence, Vinny states: "There's an 11 year age difference between us, so when Carmine started playing he had the bands come over to the house and rehearse. We had this front porch, this is in Brooklyn, New York, so I was like a 7, 8-year old kid watching Carmine's band in the house play... it was great entertainment. That was inspiring and influential, sitting there watching all these guys playing songs, and watching Carmine - that just planted the seed and the fire. I just thought, 'well, I want to do this too'. So that was the big influence there. Later on when he joined the Fudge (Vanilla Fudge), and they got more famous and started making records, that was another level that I saw. My parents would always go to the concerts and take me with them, and my sisters sometimes - we were young, 8, 9-years old, 10-years old, and go see these concerts. That was more seeds planted... "wow, I want to do this too'."

According to a press release, "the idea to record an album together was born after Thin Lizzy's concert in Poland. The bassist Marco Mendoza, delighted with the young guitarist Iggy, who supported Thin Lizzy with his band Anti Tank Nun, suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the project involving legendary musicians, who are currently recording a brand new album together with Iggy. The drummer Vinny Appice, renowned for playing in some of the best heavy metal bands of worldwide fame, as also the bassist Marco Mendoza have already finished recording bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. In late November 2013, Doogie White confronted his vocal talent with Iggy's guitar technique during their recording sessions in Poland. Hard rock fans can well expect the results of these sessions to be truly outstanding!"
