Wes Craven’s 1989 Horror Movie Shocker To Be Issued On Blu-Ray This Month – Clip From The Music Of Shocker Documentary Released

Scream Factory has released a clip of footage from the upcoming No More Mr. Nice Guy: The Music Of Shocker documentary featurette, included on the special features of the upcoming Blu-Ray Collector’s Edition of Wes Craven’s Shocker. The documentary, directed and co-produced by Thom Hazaert for THC : FILMS, (with Red Shirt Pictures, Iron Alley Films, and Scream Factory), features extensive interviews with legendary soundtrack Music Supervisor/Producer Desmond Child (Kiss, Alice Cooper), Bruce Kulick (ex-KISS, Grand Funk Railroad), Jason McMaster of (Dangerous Toys, Evil United), Mitch Pileggi (Horace Pinker, Sons of Anarchy, X-Files), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Kane Roberts (Alice Cooper) and more.

Through interviews and archival footage, No More Mr. Nice Guy is a unique companion to the film and soundtrack, exploring the legacy and creation of one of Horror’s most beloved Metal soundtracks, and according to director Hazaert, the entire process, while, at times, brutal, was a labor of love.

“I had done some stuff with Red Shirt Pictures on (Wes Craven’s) People Under The Stairs, for Scream Factory, and when I heard they were working on Shocker, I basically BEGGED them to let me do this. Shocker is not only one of my favorite films, from one of my favorite directors (R.I.P) but the soundtrack holds an equally near and dear place in my heart. To me, this film was one of a handful of groundbreaking horror films, (with Trick or Treat, Dream Warriors, etc) that forged the beginnings of an eternal bond between horror and metal, and as a young metalhead and horror fan, connected with me on a level few have since. And being involved with ANYTHING with Wes Craven’s name on it, for a horror fan, is the ultimate honor.”
He adds, “It was an impossible schedule, start to finish I think I had 2 weeks to coordinate and shoot interviews in four states, with three crews.  But I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, and in the end I think any fan of the film, and the soundtrack, will have a great time watching it. As one myself, I know I did.”
In response to the sad news of Craven’s passing Sunday from brain cancer, Hazaert will feature a special dedication to him on the Tuesday debut of his new nightly music/talk show AM/PM on DASHRADIO metal outlet Los Anarchy Radio, who, in conjunction with Scream Factory will also air a 2 hour special on the Shocker Soundtrack and Blu-Ray release - Saturday September 5th, featuring audio interviews from the documentary, and outtakes.

“Being entrusted to officially tell the story of such a huge piece of the Wes Craven legacy was an absolute honor. And hopefully everyone loves it. The reaction thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. Hopefully everyone picks up a copy to honor Wes, as it really is an amazing incarnation of the film, finally getting a proper HD release, in an amazing package.”

This definitive collector’s edition Blu-ray set contains a collectible cover featuring newly rendered retro-style artwork and a reversible cover wrap featuring original theatrical key art.

Those who order Wes Craven’s Shocker Collector’s Edition Blu-ray™ directly from ShoutFactory.com will get it shipped two weeks early, plus receive an exclusive 18″x24″ poster featuring our newly commissioned artwork. Available while supplies last.
