BINARY CODE - Moonsblood

New Jersey’s progressive metal band, Binary Code, delivers its second full-length release, Moonsblood. Featuring new vocalist Oded Weinstock, the band offers huge vocal hooks, technically-proficient musicianship, layered atmospheric soundscapes and sharp riffs reminiscent of bands such as Between The Buried And Me, Protest The Hero and Periphery. It’s melodic yet heavy; progressive yet accessible. At nine tracks with a 32 minute duration, it’s the perfect compact time to absorb it, making the replay factor very high.

Opener “Immersion” immediately impresses with its thrusting, rhythmic patterns, pulsating melodies and a clean/growled vocal approach. The ethereal and ambient intro of “Trees 100 Ft Underwater” displays  disparaging emotions while the melancholic mood contrasts with the lush, light-hearted melodies of Weinstock’s clean vocals. Other highlights of Moonsblood include the atmospheric title track, the menacing “Cetacean” and the explosive closer “Unexist.” With Moonsblood, Binary Code has created an impactful opus consisting of modern, djenty-prog.
