During the plentiful extras contained on this DVD, Cannibal Corpse vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher says, “Always give back to the people who put you where you’re at.” And that’s exactly what the reigning kings of death metal have done with this essential release. Total running time is nearly three hours, and every second is imperative viewing. The main program features a total of 17 songs performed live, with the band brilliantly executing everything from ‘Scattered Remains, Splattered Brains’ to ‘Priests Of Sodom’. The live footage, culled from a pair of 2010 concerts in Englewood, CO and Albuquerque, NM is expertly shot with up close camera angles that really make the home viewer a part of the show. Revealing footage filmed on the road is interspersed between the live material, making this feel more like an actual movie, as opposed to just another live DVD – hats off to director and producer Denise Korycki for a job well done! It quickly becomes evident that Cannibal Corpse truly is a worldwide phenomenon. Global Evisceration showcases just how grueling travel across Europe can be, given the hectic schedules and ensuing sleep depravation, but the band soldiers on. A more realistic documentation of life on the road is unimaginable. Cannibal Corpse truly takes you on tour with them – across five continents and 40 countries: from pre-show warm-ups to back stage to the tour bus to airports to bumping into fans in Wal-Mart to a prison in Malta; this is life on the inside.
