EM SINFONIA - Intimate Portrait

The well received goth/doom metal band led by Broken Hope's Brian Griffin surely don't live up to all the hype regarding their official debut CD. Very simply structured music abounds this CD, simple guitar chord progressions (where it should sound colossal and heavy, it's not), the simple vocals from singer Bunny and the supposedly enveloping atmosphere that surrounds the aura behind this release, simply doesn't have dimension and colour, which adds to the devoid power that this release elicits. Unlike fellow counterparts November's Doom, who masterfully capture all the elements needed to create a colossal yet intimate musical portrait, Em Sinfonia lack the seductive layering in their sound premise to make this release a complete opus. This canvas is quite empty.
