ENTHRONED - XES Haereticum

Enthroned upped the ante on their last album (2002's Carnage In The Worlds Beyond), retooling their armour to head into battle against their violent black metal competition. Xes Haereticum continues where the last release left off, providing another devastating assault on the senses that relies heavily upon high speed tempos to hit the mark. This isn't a one-trick pony though - the strangled Daffy Duck squall vox prove inspired and there is some truly inventive guitar soloing that lends an Enslaved influence no less. Those who worship Marduk and who are currently banging to Anhkrehg's Against You All should get your bloodstained hands on this CD. One tip - do yourself a favour and pick up the limited edition digipak version which includes three extra tracks, one of which is a total head-removal version of Kreator's 'Under The Guillotine'.
