GARDEN OF SHADOWS - Oracle Moon

Pretty good debut effort from this Maryland five piece who fuse some of the finer moments of melodic death metal and add their progressive structures into creating a wondrous gem. Picture the progressiveness of Opeth with an added touch of influence from the Swedish scene and the finer moments of Septic Flesh. What is definitely uplifting is witnessing the band carry each song consistently, keeping things interesting throughout songs that each clock in over the eight minute mark. The songs overall are interesting in character, sometimes though falling into typical clich?s that are unavoidable, but as the album progresses it gets consistently better. To create something of this magnitude must have been an ambitious task. With more experience one can expect Garden Of Shadows to blossom.
