ISIS - Clearing The Eye

It makes sense that doom-mongers Isis would create a good DVD, given their inclinations towards creating beautiful visuals to go along with their tunes. And man, the menus and intro screens alone on here are things to behold. Music DVDs aren’t really works of art, and after this one, they’re gonna be lookin’ even worse unless bands start upping the quality levels. Here we get a ton of live footage, about half of which is from a few different shows, single-camera, nothing too special, but it shows how intensely these guys crush live. Then there’s a multi-camera full set, an incredible video clip (it dawns on me that these guys are the underground Tool; no surprise they recently supported Tool in North America), a wildly detailed discography and a couple cool photo galleries. Damn, I haven’t been this excited about a DVD from a current band in a long time.
