Brazilian veterans KRISIUN have proven themselves album after album to be one of the elite in the punishing death metal scene. However, while their last few albums have been solid affairs, they haven't been able to match or top their 2000 opus, Conquerors of Armageddon. The strains of flamenco guitar on opener 'The Will To Potency' is the first signal that Krisiun have decided to change things up on this, their ninth full length. Luckily for the band and DM devotees alike, the risks taken here pay off impressively. Conquerors ... captured people's attention through it's invigorating time changes and rhythmic workouts within it's face-melting, high speed assault. Here the band reach similar lofty heights by slowing down, allowing the brutality to smack you upside the head, setting you up for total head removal once they kick in with the blastbeated fury for which they are renowned for. There are no less than four classic tracks of mayhem (you find 'em) that should remain in the band's live repetoire for years to come. An exhilarating ride that should be taken by all extreme metalheads.
